GFHC Rules and Regulations
Please note the following will apply to ALL trail rides hosted by the GFHC.
1. There will be an appointed Ride Leader (Appointed person in charge of ALL riders) and Drag Rider(s) (Appointed person responsible for the safety and welfare of ALL horses and riders) for a hosted trail ride. These riders have authority to govern the conduct of all riders.
2. Ride safely, allow 1 horse length or more, distance between the horse in front of you.
3. If your horse is a kicker, please place a red ribbon in its tail.
4. No racing or running past other trail riders.
5. Do not leave your horse unattended.
6. Leave your horse area clean.
7. Respect private property.
8. No dogs are permitted at any event.
9. Carry out what you carry in ~ no littering.
10. No smoking on the trails.
11. No alcohol at any time.
12. The club is not responsible for loss or injury.
13. If you ride in the Ganaraska Forest you are required to carry a current GRCA pass.
14. All riders are asked to please wear proper footwear and helmets.
Note: Helmets are mandatory for persons 18 yrs. and younger.
As a courtesy:
Please try to pass left to left on the trails or the roads unless the other rider asks differently. Announce that you are coming behind a person so you do not spook their horse or get kicked. Do not let your horse touch or ride up against a strange horse.
